Salford Red Devils sneaked a draw in the south of France after a 80 point thriller.
Junior Sau gave Salford a great start barging over in the opening minutes.
Salford increased their lead Josh Griffin collecting a offload from Cory Patterson to score. Griffin converted his own effort and Salford lead 10-0.
A bit of magic by Theo Fagas sent Patterson crashing over and Salford had a healthy lead.
Salford were red hot and scored again shortly after. Tommy Lee punishing some slack Catalans defence running in the Red Devils' fourth score.
Catalan Dragons' got back in the game Taia scoring their first try.
Scott Dureau converted and further trys cut Salfords lead at half time to 18-22 Duport and Pomeroy going over for the Dragons
In the 2nd half a Theo Fages interception brought up Salfords fifth try, Catalans hit back with Pomeroy diving over for his second.
Rangi Chase increased the visitors' lead with his first try of the season assisted by Kevin Locke but again Catalans came back, Oldfield catching a Dureau kick to score in the corner.
Dureau succeeded with two kicks to make it 32-32, but he failed to convert two further Catalan tries by Whitehead and Henderson which was crucial.
Cory Patterson grabbed his second of the game reaching over the line with 3 minutes to go.
Catalan Dragons conceded a penalty for not playing the ball correctly and Josh Griffin kicked the penalty to secured a point in the south of France for Salford.
Salford play Wakefield at home next week, the start of a run of fixtures which will make or break Salfords season.
