Hull FC 24 Salford 20

Salford  Red Devils  battled bravely but unfortunately  came back from Humberside  with no points as they went down 24-20 against  Hull FC.

Salford started brightly when Kevin Locke scored his 3rd try in 2 games brilliantly caughting a towering bomb to touched down. Theo Fages' penalty put Salford further ahead.

Hull hit back when Tom Lineham's turn of pace beat the Salford defence for Hull's first try, during his celebration  he abused a match official  and was sin binned.

Salford  got to half time leading 6-8 and belief began to grow that Salford with all the injuries and Suspensions could get a win.

Salford started the 2nd half on top with a Greg Johnson's offload bounced nicely for Joe Greenwood to score giving Salford a 8 point lead.

Hull though a powerful Talanoa effort brought Hull to within two points and the game was back in the mix.

Salford extended their lead again on loan centre Gildart pounced just before the dead-ball line to score for Salford, but Hull's Minichiello powered over from close range to reduce the gap to two once again.

After a glut of penalties Hulls  Sa broke Salford hearts scoring the game-winning try under the posts with 6 minutes to go despite  some desperate defence .

Salford  were  brave, with injuries and suspensions hitting the  squad  hard. The players gave everything  they had to try and get a result but unfortunately  couldn't  hang on at the end.

But as fans we could not ask  for any more from the players. They are doing it tough at the moment  but effort, commitment  and heart is all us fans can ask for and we had lots of it last night
