Salford Red Devils squad preview Forwards part 2

Salford take on Wigan on Saturday in a huge test at the start of the super league season. Paul Whiteside takes a look at the players who will take their place in the Salford pack

Jordan Walne

Jordan along with brother Adam is in his 5th season with Salford. Prop being is preferred position Jordan has played hooker in the past! A very good tackler and hard worker. 2017 promises to be a big year for Jordan to hold down a place in the Salford pack.

Olsi Krasniqi

Born in Albania Olsi made his name at the London Broncos. 2017 will be his third season with Salford. His preferred position is prop forward a tough tackler with a good pair of feet makes Olsi a very mobile player in the Salford pack. At just 24 he's maturing in to a valuable part of the team.

Kris Brining

Kris arrived from York city knights in the close season. Another young player with huge potential and an exciting 2017 awaits after the big step up from league one. Kris had a fantastic try ratio at York and was very impressive in Salford's pre season games! A very good distributor at dummy half and plenty of pace makes kris one to really keep an eye on this season!

Lee Mossop

The 6ft 2 Cumbrian arrives at Salford with a wealth of experience. With over a 100 first team games for Wigan and a spell in Australia with Parramatta Eels the versatile forward who can play prop or second row is expected to be a main stay in the Salford pack. Capped 3 times for England in 2012 his time in Australia in 2014 was injury hit. Definitely one to watch this season an experienced player with a lot to offer.

Daniel Murray
Daniel signed from Warrington in the close season having been very impressive in there youth set up. Originally from Wigan Daniel is only 20 but watching him in the pre season games he looks a very mature forward! Preferred position being prop Daniel is a very strong runner who like to get a quick play the ball. A lad with huge potential and at such a tender age has a big future ahead of him.

Matty Wilkinson
Matty has come through the ranks at Salford and impressed every time he's played for the first team. He's a young hooker and was a big star in the under 19s last year. Tim sheens likened him to Robbie Farrah. With kris brining also in the first team we seem to have some quality at hooker with Logan Tomkins as well. A big year for Matty to take his chance.

Liam Bent
At just 19 Liam is one of the youngest players in the squad! Very impressive in the pre season games. This talented young forward was tremendous in the under 19s and looks to make the step up in 2017. He has also spent time at Halifax.
