Salford 18 Warrington 34

Salford Red Devils gave another battling performance but unfortunately for the huge 6 thousand plus crowd who turned up to the AJ Bell witnessed another defeat this time to Warrington.

Salford started on the back foot when Warrington charged down a Theo Fagas kick for Ben Currie to open the scoring. Salford got back in the contest when good work sent Corey Paterson though a gap to score.

Warrington found another gear with Jean Ormsby and Stefan Ratchford putting the wolves in the driving seat. But just before half time Salford hit back when Junior Sa'u reduced the deficit with a try in the corner.

This contest was still in the balance Jean Ormsby added a second for Warrington after the break before Salfords Niall Evalds burst the Warrington defence and just managed to reach over the line for Salford.

Warrington didn't panic and  two tries by Brad Dwyer and a  Ormsby's hatrick try secured Warrington's win.

Salford have now lost six straight games without their main playmaker Rangi Chase and remain 11th in the Super League table.

Salford can feel a bit aggrieved that they didn't get much from Ben Thaler the referee. The penalty count with 5 minutes to go was 11-4 to Warrington.
This type of thing does add fuel to the fire that there maybe a agenda in place.

In the cold light of day Warrington were the better side in patches but the effort from the players cannot be faulted. Hopefully Salfords luck will turn soon.

Salford will look back to a Cory Patterson try which was ruiled out by the video referee for a knock on as being the turning point in the game.

Next game is Widnes at Magic weekend in Newcastle hopefully Salford can win and stop this run of defeats.
