Salford v Warrington Big match preview

Salford Red Devil's take on Warrington Wolves and it promises to be a thrilling game. Check out Dan Robinson blog as he takes you through who he thinks will be the big winners on Saturday night

Battle 1
Mark Flanagan V Joe Westerman
Both players don't really get the credit they deserve in their respective teams I believe. Flanagan is a good solid defender and can certainly pass a ball as we all have seen before. Westerman is a no nonsense hard grafter same as Flanagan both on and off the ball. This will be a good battle to watch come Saturday.

Battle 2
Josh Wood V Brad Dwyer
This will be a very good battle from the bench as both players have been doing really well for their sides and in Josh Wood I really do think we have a player not just for now but the future aswell. Since the start of the season Watson has had faith in Wood playing him either from the bench or starting and I see no different come Saturday and he will have a key role to play if Salford are to get the win. Dwyer is very much like Clark and can create something from nothing. He knows where the try line is and Salford really do need to keep a close eye on him from the bench.
Battle 3 is the battle of the 9's
Logan Tomkins v Daryl Clark
Having been given the number 9 shirt at Salford this season Tomkins will look for solidify his spot as the main hooker in the team with young guns Wood and Brining biting at his ankles. Tomkins put in a good performance away at Leeds grabbing a well earned try and hopefully can build on that against the Wolves
On the opposite side in the wolves ranks Clark is a fantastic rugby league player and can make a break from nothing and when he plays well the Wolves seem to play well.

Battle 4 the front runners
Lee Mossop V Ashton Simms
Lee Mossop in my eyes hasn't put a foot wrong since joining from Wigan in the off season. A big running forward to work with Kopczak and Griffin is what we have needed and in Mossop I see good things coming from him in 2017. Ashton Simms is a quality forward who will have a greater responsibility now Chris Hill is injured. The Samoan forward will be in the thick of the action on Saturday.
