Wakefield v Salford Big match preview

Salford Red Devil's travel to Wakefield on Sunday to build on the Victory against Warrington last week. Take a look at our big match preview below where we think the game could be won or lost on Sunday.

Battle 1 - the leaders
Dobson v Miller

Salford main man this season has been Michael Dobson and he really looks to have hit the ground running in 2017. His kicking game and game management has made us look very good and hopefully an injury free campaign can see Dobson lead us to the Top 8.

Miller for Wakefield has also been Wakefields key man especially last weekend against Saints when it was his penalty try that won the game. Miller can create something out of nothing and if we are to get the win on Sunday I think he will be one to watch.

Battle 2- the Wingers
Justin Carney v Mason Caton-Brown
Justin Carney's return to the side after his 2 game ban looks more than likely to happen even though young Jake Bibby has done well. His ability to return a ball and make good yards will be key come the weekend and I think Watson will need to start with the Tank on the flank to get us going forward.

Ex red Mason Caton-Brown was a fantastic player for Salford in the time he was at the club and I for one was sad to see him leave. He has already scored some superb tried for his new club and no doubt which ever winger centre partnership faces him will need to watch him like a hawk.

Battle 2- the supports
Rob Lui v Sam Williams

Rob Lui has had his ups and downs for the club especiallly after last seasons injury but with the arrival of half back Todd Carney from Australia Rob Lui has found the magic which made him a crowd favourite early in 2016.

Ex Catalans Dragons half back Williams has been brought in by Chris Chester to give Trinity a little extra in attack. The Australian half back has a good eye for a pass and will need to be kept a close eye on come Sunday.

Battle 4- the Beef
Craig Kopczak v Craig Huby

The only place to start with Koppy is to show our appreciation for his performances since joining the Red Devil's. He really does put a shift in and never takes a step back when playing in the red shirt.
Huby another no nonsense front tower can carry his team over the game line with some strong runs. This will be a really good battle to watch but I believe Kopczak will come out the happier.
